Description:

The Human Services Department seeks a talented professional to lead their Employment and Training Division! Starting salary up to $85.26/hour ($177,947/year) plus a competitive total compensation package!* The Employment and Training (E&T) Division Director is responsible for overseeing all functions of the County of Sonoma’s Human Services Employment and Training Division, including the daily operations and strategic direction of the division’s four main program areas: CalWORKs, Housing/Homelessness, General Assistance, and Workforce Investment Board/Job Link. The E&T Division Director will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating workflow, case management, and programmatic improvements, policies, and procedures for key division initiatives.

Qualifications:

Additional responsibilities include: • Serving as the Sonoma County Workforce Investment Board Director • Overseeing the daily operations of Employment and Training division offices and staff • Monitoring and managing high-level division personnel matters • Leading the division’s strategic and operational planning initiatives • Monitoring the provision of social services to the public through an intake and ongoing service model • Overseeing the operations of the Workforce Investment Board (Brown Act policymaking body) • Monitoring performance of the division according to state and federal standards • Working with other Human Services Department leaders on policy interpretation and implementation • Monitoring legislative changes and coordinating implementation of new regulations with division management • Serving on internal and external committees and workgroups as a decision maker and providing guidance on items that impact staffing and client services
