$89,109.22 – $136,375.55 Annually

Description:

Under direction, manages a major section of an engineering department; responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating activities within the section.

The ideal candidate has: supervisory experience in civil and geotechnical engineering responsibilities for land development projects, knowledge of CEQA, NPDES, water distribution systems. The ideal candidate enjoys a variety of project work, interaction with stakeholders and elected public officials. Letter and report writing, computer use, technology are important. Knowledge of Ventura County geology and hazards is a plus. Candidate communicates effectively verbally and in writing; functions calmly with tact and diplomacy; effectively analyzes consequences of decisions or recommendations.

Qualifications:

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or equivalent, and a minimum of four (4) years (for Engineering Manager I) to six (6) years (for Engineering Manager II) of qualifying, progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience are required, including one year’s experience as team leader of engineering and technical staff or one year of public works project management experience, are required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer.
• Experience in land development projects, creation/review of grading plans
• Knowledge of CEQA, NPDES, water distribution systems
• Possession of a current California driver license.
