Description:

The California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) is hiring a General Manager. CALPIA is a self-supporting, customer-focused business that reduces recidivism, increases prison safety, and enhances public safety by providing the incarcerated population with productive work and training opportunities. CALPIA achieves this vision by incarcerated individual development programs and opportunities which focus on reducing incarcerated individual recidivism. CALPIA operates over 100 service, manufacturing, and agricultural industries at 34 prisons throughout California.

Qualifications:

Providing a robust program with various options for all levels of incarcerated individuals is critical and the ideal candidate will have to keep steady eye on the ever-changing businesses world. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with elected officials, board members, legislative members and staff, correctional and business management teams as well as the media. Experience in the areas of manufacturing, criminal justice and workforce development are preferred but not required.
