Salary:

$174,574 – $213,116 Annually

Description:

Under general direction of the Human Services Agency Director, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates
Health Department programs and services; enforces local health orders and ordinances pertaining to protection
of public health; assesses the community health status; advises the Director and Board of Supervisors on
community health issues; coordinates assigned activities with other County departments and outside agencies;
and performs related work as required. Receives administrative direction from the Human Services Agency Director. Exercises general direction and supervision over assigned supervisory, technical, and administrative support staff. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors as the appointing authority.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a recognized medical school approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of
the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible
experience demonstrating familiarity with the broad range of specific public health programs in California
including (2) years of direct clinical or related private practice experience.

Possession of a valid California class C driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Possession of a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s license issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance
of the State of California.
