Description:

Berkeley Search Consultants has been retained by Santa Cruz County to recruit for a Housing for Health Manager. Under direction of the Human Services ’s Housing for Health Division (“H4H”) Director, the Housing for Health Manager (Community Development Manager) organizes and implements the Supportive Community Housing Program (”SCHP”) focused on expanding permanent and temporary housing and residential resources for households at-risk of or experiencing homelessness within the County of Santa Cruz. This position will establish and maintain a framework for activities in order to build a strong inter-jurisdictional coordination structure, align policies, promote systems integration, and promote collaboration among public agencies, educational institutions, businesses and community groups; other work as required. This position is responsible for exercising a high degree of leadership and independent judgment in the coordination and implementation of the County’s overall plan to address homelessness and assisting with the implementation their countywide strategic framework on homelessness.

Qualifications:

– Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

– Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business, finance, social sciences, or a related field. (A Master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.) AND

– Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public administration, including three years of experience in the design and delivery of programs to address homelessness. A master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of professional experience.

– Special Requirement: Possession of a 3 the ability to provide suitable transportation approved by the appointing authority.
