$115,877.16 – $140,849.40 Annually

Description:

Under general direction, assist the County Librarian and Deputy County Librarians to plan, organize, direct and, evaluation of major system-wide County Library programs and services; serves as a member of the executive Library management team for planning, budgeting, personnel and other administrative activities; and to perform related work as assigned. System–wide responsibilities may include direct management oversight of a number of community library managers. Distinguishing Characteristics The Library Services Manager classification reports to either the County Librarian or a Deputy County Librarian. A Library Services Manager is responsible for the system-wide Library programs or services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process. Education: Possession of a Master of Library Science Degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association. Experience: Three (3) years full-time or its equivalent experience in library management or in a public, major business, or large academic library program and services development: two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
