Salary:

$59,945.60 – $71,448.00 Annually

Description:

An incumbent in this professional class performs a varied range of paralegal responsibilities and legal support to attorney staff in the County Counsel’s Office. On a regular basis, an incumbent is expected to apply extensive knowledge and abilities in legal research and legal documentation preparation and provide assistance in case preparation.

In addition to listed salary, this position is eligible to receive $300 per month confidential pay.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Three years of significant, directly-related and progressive legal clerical or legal secretarial experience, preferably to include experience in preparing legal documents and in performing legal research and analysis.
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, plus completion of a recognized paralegal program at a university, college or other educational institutional.
License or Certificate:*
Possession of at least one of the following: (see bulletin on County of Napa’s Jobs website for additional details)
(1) A certificate of completion of a paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association.

The Recruitment Process

2. Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications the week of September 2, 2019.

3. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will have their supplemental responses scored by subject matter experts the week of September 9, 2019. The most qualified applicants from the scoring of the supplemental questions will be invited for an Oral Panel Interview.

4. Oral Panel Interviews are tentatively scheduled for September 26, 2019. Only the most qualified candidates from the interview process will be placed on the eligible list and may be considered to fill positions for up to one year.
