$5,372 – $6,479 / Month

Description:

Performs a range of both standard and complex tasks related to processing payroll for the County and a variety of Special Districts. Duties include maintaining employee withholding and deduction data and processing associated payroll transactions, interpreting, and applying County policies and government payroll regulations and assisting in the analysis and evaluation of payroll problems. Answers routine questions regarding payroll deductions and counsels employees on family leave, workers’ compensation, sick pay, catastrophic leave, and direct pay of insurance premiums. Requires attention to detail to ensure payroll is processed accurately, and according to County policies, collective bargaining agreements and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

The Highly Qualified Candidate has experience processing high volume payroll in a unionized environment or for a government entity. They have worked with an enterprise system to process payroll in-house, possess working knowledge of FLSA, recent W4 changes, and the intricacies of working across multiple bargaining units and have the ability to troubleshoot payroll issues. The ideal candidate is an effective team player who is able to multi-task while remaining calm under pressure in a fast-paced working environment where exceptional customer service, tact and diplomacy are required.
