Salary:

$5,158.40 – $6,167.20 Monthly

Description:

Incumbents in this classification assigned to Auditor-Controller’s payroll function are entitled to receive $300 per month confidential premium pay.

The primary function of the Payroll Technician is to process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,400 employees using the PeopleSoft payroll system and all related tax calculation and reporting.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Three years of extensive, directly-related and progressive experience in financial record keeping and/or payroll accounting work preferably including experience in a responsible accounting position with a government agency.

AND

Education:
Equivalent to completion of two years of college with course work in accounting, financial record keeping, or a closely related field. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis.)

License or Certificate:
A position assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
