Description:

The Port of Oakland is recruiting a Port Assistant Management Analyst in the Maritime Division. Will perform a wide-variety of professional and analytical work in a variety of assignments relative to the administration and management of an assigned Port program including, but not limited to, human resources and personnel functions; equal opportunity; governmental relations; budget preparation, review, analysis and administration; business operations or labor relations; organizational and/or operational analysis; aviation, maritime and commercial real estate projects; general business development and marketing initiatives; development, implementations and evaluation of employee programs; grant program performance; conducts analyses of assigned program policies and procedures and makes recommendations for improvement; researches and compiles various data for the preparation and presentation of internal and external analyses, reports and other types of publications; and performs a variety of analytical duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, accounting, finance or a related field. Experience: One year of experience performing analytical work. Licenses: Incumbents in this job are expected to operate automotive vehicles in the performance of assigned duties. Individuals appointed will be required to maintain a valid Class C California Driver’s License. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles and practices of operational, policy and programmatic research and analysis; report writing techniques; business management; business development and marketing; budget preparation, analysis, forecasting and control; financial record keeping and reporting; techniques used to analyze business processes and recommend solutions for existing problems; math and statistical computation; accounting and auditing; public administration; administrative and statistical analysis and report preparation; and computer applications and hardware and software related to the work.
