Description:

The Water Resources Division of the San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department is seeking people energized about working with communities to solve water issues to fill two open positions. It is anticipated that one engineer will assist with feasibility study efforts associated with developing a regional desalination facility and optimizing the use of Salinas Dam/Santa Margarita Lake, and the other engineer will focus on advancing our County-wide Master Water Report and associated collaborative groundwater, watershed, flood and drainage technical planning efforts. Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Professional level civil engineering, traffic engineering, or land surveying experience may substitute for education on year-for-year basis); Or Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Land Surveyor in Training (L.S.I.T.) Certificate and four years of paraprofessional level civil engineering, traffic engineering, or land surveying experience. PLUS: Engineer II: One year of civil engineering, traffic engineering or land surveying experience. (A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or two years paraprofessional level civil engineering, traffic engineering, land surveying experience may be substituted). Certificates: Engineer I: Within six years of appointment must obtain Registration as a Civil Engineer or Land Surveyor in the State of California, which must be maintained throughout employment. Engineer II: Within five years of appointment must obtain Registration as a Civil Engineer or Land Surveyor in the State of California, which must be maintained throughout employment.
