$106,118 – $131,412 annually

Description:

The County of San Joaquin is currently seeking a Senior Deputy Director (Deputy Director) of Public Health Services (PHS) to oversee Children’s Medical Services, Emergency Preparedness, Disease Control and Prevention, and Epidemiology. The Deputy Director will be an integral member of the public health executive management leadership team which is committed to ingenuity and innovation. Responsibilities include overseeing programs’ administrative functions, budgets, compliance with related statutes, and ensuring successful outcomes on program grants, as well as supporting staff development and facilitating cross-program collaborative work.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in public health, business administration, public administration, nursing, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience managing a public health program or service.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the broad range of specific public health programs in California.
  • Be able to attend meetings outside of normal working hours and must work on-call to respond to emergency situations during weekends, holidays, and other off-hour shifts.
