The Office of Emergency Services is responsible for alerting and notifying appropriate agencies when disaster strikes; coordinating all agencies that respond; ensuring resources are available and mobilized in times of disaster; developing plans and procedures for response to and recovery from disasters; and developing and providing preparedness materials for the public.

Qualifications:

-Two years experience as an Emergency Services Coordinator with County of San Diego; OR,
-A Certificate in Emergency Management (CEM) issued by International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) AND 3 years experience in emergency management, response or recovery; OR,
-A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college/university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency AND, 5 years experience with responsibilities in program/project management or administrative staff support responsible for planning, analyzing and solving problems of an organization, program or system.

*Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
