The Staff Assistant I/II – Board of Supervisors, is an at will position, under the direction of the County Executive Officer or designee, provides support to the members of the Board of Supervisors and performs a wide variety of liaison, communications, coordination, constituency and administrative support work on confidential and sensitive issues. The Staff Assistant – BOS also supports the Supervisors with fieldwork, which includes accompanying them or representing them at neighborhood, business, social or community meetings. The incumbent must be able to quickly adapt to the needs of the Board of Supervisors and the community they serve by working on projects that may be either constituent-serving or clerical in nature. Other duties include creation of correspondence on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, planning for and attending meetings with constituents, support with communications including drafting newsletters and talking points, and long-term projects pertaining to the business of the BOS.


Experience— Two years of significant, directly related and progressively responsible confidential support experience in a public sector or private agency which involved sensitive public issues is desirable. Education— Graduation from an accredited college with major coursework in public or business administration, political science, or a related field. License or Certificate— Possession of a valid CA driver’s license.
