Description

San Joaquin County is looking to fill one position for an Appraiser IV in the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk’s Office. This position will serve as the head of a section involved in the appraising of residential, commercial, industrical, agricultural or special purpose properties for tax assessment purposes.

This is a first line supervisory position and will be responsible for supervising a section composed of several professional appraisers who carr yout the County’s real property appraisal program.

Qualifications

Experience: One year as an Appraiser III, Auditor-Appraiser III, or higher level class in San Joaquin County service.

OR II

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Four years (within the last ten years) as a real property appraiser or auditor-appraiser, one year of which must have been at a level equivalent to an Appraiser III or Auditor-Appraiser III in San Joaquin County service.

Substitution: Additional experience (within the last ten years) in accounting, auditing, appraising, building cost estimating or engineering may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. (Experience in real estate sales or transfers will not be considered as real estate appraisal experience.)

AND

License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license.

Certificates: A permanent Appraiser’s Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization must be obtained by an employee in this class within the first year of employment.
