What motivated you to enter public service?
I am a proud third-generation County employee and initially became a public servant at the urging of my grandmother. I believe that we play an essential role in helping others and I gain a sense of pride and accomplishment in knowing that what I do makes a difference in our community. While I don’t directly serve the public, what my staff and I do is essential in ensuring that services are provided throughout the county.
What’s your favorite movie of all time?
I have several favorite movies, and always recite movie quotes in my head; sometimes they sneak out in conversation. Princess Bride has been one of my favorites for years. I also love Les Misérables, with Hugh Jackman.
What motivates you to work hard?
I am a naturally driven person. I believe in giving 100% to what you do and I thrive on setting goals and meeting them. Working with others and helping them become their best selves is motivating to me as well.
What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading “Think Like A Monk” by Jay Shetty. This book really hit home with me and helped me refocus on the importance of Servant Leadership and remembering my purpose of serving the public and others.
What’s the most interesting or fulfilling part of your job?
I find implementing technology to streamline the services we provide very fulfilling. Using technology allows us to provide a broader range of services in a more efficient manner, and provides the public greater access to information.
