On December 11, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
provided certification of system readiness to the Department of
Finance to implement the Age 26-49 Adult Expansion of Full Scope
Medi-Cal benefits. The expansion will provide individuals who are
26-49 years of age with full scope Medi-Cal benefits regardless
of immigration status, subject to meeting all other Medi-Cal
eligibility criteria.
DHCS will complete the transition of Age 26-49 Adult Expansion
individuals in restricted scope Medi-Cal to full scope Medi-Cal
effective January 1, 2024. Notices of Action have been sent to
impacted individuals to notify them of their transition to full
scope Medi-Cal beginning on January 1, 2024.
