CalHHS Seeks Members for Ad Hoc Subgroups of CARE Act Working Group

The California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) is currently recruiting members for three time-limited ad hoc subgroups of the CARE Act Working Group. Findings and recommendations from each subgroup will be shared with counties, the Department of Health Care Services, and the Judicial Council, as well as help shape the implementation of the CARE Act. The three groups are:

  • Services & Supports: This workgroup will focus on discussing “what works” for CARE clients. Discussion will include relevant guidelines, research and consensus documents which define the standard of care for individuals with severe schizophrenia spectrum disorders who are at high risk for homelessness, incarcera6on, morbidity, and mortality. Candidates with a clinical background who have had direct experience working with this population are encouraged to apply.
  • Training, Technical Assistance & Communications: This workgroup will review, assess, and provide feedback on training and communication material.
  • Data Collection, Reporting & Evaluation: This workgroup will review and provide

recommendations for data collection and study methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative. Candidates with experience in the areas of program implementation, program evaluation, data and research of cross-sector, multi-site initiatives are encouraged to apply.

Each subgroup will be capped at twelve members and include at least one individual with experience, an equity advisor, and an experienced clinician. The subgroups will meet in Sacramento no more than once a month and will offer a hybrid format.
