CARE Act: Upcoming Trainings

CARE Act Claiming and Sanctions

On Thursday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m., the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will be hosting a training specific to the CARE Act claiming process and sanctions process. This targeted training is for Cohort 1 and Los Angeles County program staff who have a role in the CARE claiming process, sanctions process, fiscal/finance teams, and applicable project managers. The training will be led by the DHCS Local Governmental Financing Division.

Role of the Peer in the CARE Process

This training has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. This training will provide an overview of how peers can participate in the CARE Act, as volunteer supporters, as part of the CARE team as peer support specialists, or in other ways as a supporter. Principles and core competencies of peer workers, including strategies and resources available for peers, will also be discussed.

The training on January 10 and subsequent open-forum discussion on January 11 are intended for behavioral health agencies, peer organizations, volunteer supporters, and other stakeholder groups involved in the CARE Act implementation process.
