Yesterday, Covered California announced
it will be providing consumers until February 9,
2024, to sign up for healthcare coverage in 2024.
According to the announcement, surging demand and technical
issues at its service center led to the decision to extend the
deadline. Consumers will have until midnight on Friday, February
9, to apply for coverage that will be effective February 1.
Consumers can visit CoveredCA.com for confidential help at no
cost from one of the more than 14,000 certified enrollers
throughout the state who can assist with signing up, including
individuals who can assist in other languages. Additionally,
consumers can reach the Covered California service center at
(800) 300-1506.
Covered California is the state’s health insurance marketplace,
where Californians who are not insured through their employment
can apply for and obtain healthcare coverage, including financial
assistance on a sliding scale to reduce healthcare insurance
premium costs. Depending on income, some consumers may quality
for the low-cost or no-cost Medi-Cal program.
