Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative: Budget Process Best Practices Webinar
October 26, 2017
The Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative is hosting an upcoming webinar on Wednesday, November 1 at 11:00 am to discuss best practices for using evidence in the budget process.
With the rising number of rigorous evaluation studies and more accessible ways of testing the effectiveness of many social programs, state and local governments are well-positioned to incorporate evidence into the budget process and prioritize evidence-based programs. To register for the webinar please click here.
Results First partner states and counties can use these tools to advance the use of evidence in their decision-making processes:
- Embedding evidence requirements into budget instructions
- Requiring a percentage of program funds to be designated to evidence-based interventions
- Incentivizing providers to use evidence-based programs through contracts and grants
Featured speakers in the webinar include: Nick Dantzer, Manager, The Pew-MacArthur Results First Initiative; Jon Courtney, Program Evaluation Manager, New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee; and Jessica Corvinus, Research and Evidence-Based Policy Initiatives Manager, Colorado Office of State Planning and Budgeting
