Serve on the Board of Directors of Your Local District Agricultural Association

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is seeking candidates to serve on the Board of Directors for several District Agricultural Associations (DAAs) across the state. DAAs hold fairs, expositions, and exhibitions to highlight various industries, enterprises, resources, and products of the state. There are over 50 DAAs and each has a Board of Directors. The majority of DAAs cover one county, but a few cover multiple counties. Each respective director is part of a board that establishes policies for their specific fair and tend to meet about once a month.

Application Process

Anyone interested in serving on a local DAA County Fair Board of Directors should file an application with the Governor’s Appointment Office. To fill out an application:

  • Click on  Appointments | California Governor to access the Appointment Office website,
  • Once on the website click on Online Application and select Begin Application,
  • Fill out the application with personal information,
  • Under the heading title ‘Position’ a drop-down box click the appropriate District Agriculture Association.  

CSAC encourages those who are interested in being an instrumental part of showcasing their communities to apply or forward the information along to those with a diverse background and suitable for the role.
