WEBINAR: Accessing Funding Under the EPA’s Climate Reduction Grants Program

January 25, 2024

As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, $5 billion was allocated to the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program (CPRG). The CPRG provides funding to develop and implement plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and beyond and accelerate decarbonization across one or more major sectors responsible for GHG emissions (i.e., industry, electric power, transportation, commercial and residential buildings, agriculture/natural and working lands, and waste and materials management). Examples include programs and incentives to reduce or divert waste (including food and/or yard waste) through improved production practices, improved collection services, and increased reuse or recycling rates, or targeted incentives for installation of renewable energy and energy storage systems on commercial and residential buildings, among other measures.

Counties are eligible to apply, including local air pollution control agencies, departments, or other municipal government offices. The Notice of Funding Opportunity can be found here. Applications are due April 1st with a Notice of Intent to Apply due February 1st.

Learn how to develop strategies and qualify to access CPRG funding by listening in on an informational webinar: CA Climate Pollution Reduction.
