Webinar: Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP) Round 5

October 27, 2022

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will host an informational webinar on Wednesday, November 2 at 2:00 pm to review the BHCIP Round 5 funding opportunity and application process. This round will fund $480 million in projects to address significant crisis care gaps in California’s behavioral health infrastructure, with consideration for funding priority to those that provide crisis services to individuals in need.

Last week, DHCS released a Request for Applications and a wide array of forms and templates on the BHCIP Round 5 website. The application portal will open on Thursday, November 3, with a deadline to submit applications by the end of day on January 17, 2023. Eligible applicants for BHCIP Round 5 funds include counties, cities, tribal, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit organizations whose projects reflect the state’s priorities and serve the targeted population. In the interest of encouraging innovative projects that take both local and regional approaches, eligible entities are invited to apply independently or with partners or co-applicants.

All resources for BHCIP Round 5, including a searchable FAQ and a link to complete a mandatory pre-application consultation, can be found here.
