Salary:

$80,704.00 – $98,092.80 Annually

Description:

Assists the Chief Probation Officer in planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the activities and operations of the Probation Department, including Juvenile Hall, as well as various programs and functional areas; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Chief Probation Officer; and acts as the Chief Probation Officer in their absence.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice, behavioral science, or a related field is preferred; and three (3) years of responsible probation and corrections experience involving the evaluation, administration, management, and control of varied types of probation programs, including the supervision and management of personnel; or a combination of related education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Substitution: Related experience may be substituted for the education at a rate of two years of experience to one year of education.

Licenses and Certifications:
• Penal Code 832
• State Corrections Authority STC Manager and Administrator Core Course, or applicable substitution as
defined by the Board of State and Community Corrections within six months of appointment.
• Valid driver’s license at the appropriate level, including special endorsements as required by the State of
California, may be required depending upon assignment
