Salary:

$121,568.39 – $147,767.12 Annually

Description:

Under direction of the Director of Human Resources, to plan, direct, manage, and oversee one or more of the functions within the Human Resources Office, including classification, compensation, disability compliance, employer/employee relations, recruitment and selection, employee benefit services, EEO/diversity, equity and inclusion, policy development/implementation and employee training and development; to serve in the absence of the Director of Human Resources upon request or as operationally necessary to serve as staff to the Civil Service Commission; and performs other duties as required. SUPERVISION EXERCISED Exercises direct supervision over supervisory, professional, technical and clerical staff.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business administration, public administration, organizational development or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: At least six (6) years of progressively responsible management experience in a human resources position in a public/governmental agency. Two (2) years of which must include contract or policy development experience in a management, supervisory, or lead capacity. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain by date of appointment, an appropriate, valid California driver’s license.
