$100,755.20 – $134,992.00 Annually

Description:

This position is critical to fostering a collaborative water resource management approach within Butte
County and throughout the Sacramento Valley region. This position is designed to exert a high level of
leadership in water and resource management throughout the region and the state.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess expertise in policy and management skills necessary to
advance water resource programs and projects within the region, specifically the development and
implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). The position is responsible for
developing and managing water resource projects, contracts, grants and other related initiatives.

-Assist in implementing the county’s groundwater conservation ordinances.
-Coordinates and facilitates the efforts of County departments involved in water activities to manage the diverse and complex range of water issues.
-Represents the Department of Water and Resource Conservation in meetings with state, federal and/or local agencies, and other public or private organizations.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration, Physical, Biological or Environmental Science or related fields. A Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Physical, Biological, or Environmental Science or related fields may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
-Four (4) years of professional experience in a public agency performing duties that include the management of water resources.
-Employees hired into this classification must file statements of economic interest with the Butte County Clerk/Recorder.
-Valid State of California driver’s license is required.
