Description:

The County of San Benito is seeking an Auditor/Accountant III. This position performs the most complex professional level financial, accounting and auditing duties for county-wide programs and activities; prepares financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB); conducts analytical review of financial information; prepares projections; performs research and analysis of accounting and statistical data and other related duties as required.

The Auditor-Accountant III is the advanced-level position in the professional Auditor/Accountant series and is expected to perform the full range of professional accounting work including the most complex and technical accounting functions. The position receives general supervision from the Assistant Auditor/Controller or the County Auditor/Controller. Incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of governmental accounting systems and procedures and the ability to work on projects as a team leader or independently. 

Qualifications:

Desired qualifications for the position include:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
• Three to Five years of governmental accounting experience.
