Description:

Mendocino County is located north of the San Francisco Bay Area and includes some of the world’s most stunning coastline and redwood forests as well as a flourishing wine industry. Under the direction of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Director, the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Director oversees all functions of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the complex state and federal rules and regulations that govern behavioral health activities and will serve as an advocate for the County’s behavioral health programs at the local, state and national levels to maximize the resources available for the County’s behavioral health programs. The incumbent will be well-versed in modern methods, techniques and procedures used in marriage, family and child counseling and the treatment of mental illness and be a leader who communicates openly, honestly, directly and respectfully. A combination of education and experience consistent with Section 620, Title 9, of the California Administrative Code is required.
