Description:

The Business Systems Analyst works under general direction of the Probation Department’s Information Systems Manager to plan, direct, and manage the development of one or more key system implementation projects from the conceptual and operational aspects of adapting information systems to department needs, and communicating those needs to information systems professionals. The position will work closely with probation practitioners to document work processes and assure that information systems support and enhance the work of practitioners while producing the data needed to assure quality and report outcomes.

The position’s duties will align with the values of inclusion, shared ownership, and meaningful work to support the successful implementation of evidence-based practices. The Business Systems Analyst applies a broad and detailed knowledge of department business needs, policies and practices, as well as application systems analysis to handle the following responsibilities:

•Functioning in a liaison capacity, combining business planning expertise with information technology, to analyze and translate multiple department business requirements into system enhancements, and

•Managing and coordinating a department’s functional business activities and systems during the implementation of major initiatives and operational enhancements, with critical information technology components.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications :

Normally, possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information processing, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field AND three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience analyzing business processes and information systems and managing complex business projects, which must have included two (2) years of design and project management responsibility for small and medium business applications.
