Description:

The Stanislaus County Planning & Community Development Dept. is seeking an energetic, team-oriented professional to join our team. We are recruiting qualified applicants for the positions of Chief Building Official (Manager IV). The Chief Building Official position is primarily assigned to the overall operation of the Building Permits Division. The division issues building permits, inspects construction, performs plan checking services, issues address, collects fees (including the County’s Public Facility Fees), provides flood plain administration, conducts dangerous building abatements, and related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience Required: Must Meet One of the Following Two Listed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (management level experience in building permit services-related activities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis); OR
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, two (2) years of which must have been at a supervisory level.

Must Also Meet Both of the Following Two Listed:

  • Certification as Building Inspector and Building Plans Examiner, Commercial and Residential, as defined and recognized by the International Code Council; AND
  • Certification as a Chief Building Official as defined and recognized by the International Code Council.
