Description:

The Chief Deputy Treasurer reports to the Treasurer-Tax Collector and has significant responsibility including managing the operations of the Treasury and Investment Division, including twenty staff in the Investments Group and Treasury Accounting Group. The Division is responsible for operating the second largest investment pool in California, accounting for tax collections and investments, formulating and implementing the strategy, goals, and policy for the investment pool, overseeing internal controls, banking services, fund transfers for pool participants, and bond paying agent activities. The Investment Pool serves the County, special districts, school districts, and other local public agencies.

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree in one of these fields is desirable. Qualified applicants will also possess at least five years of professional experience managing a large and complex treasury operation and a multi-billion-dollar fixed income investment portfolio.
