Description:

Stanislaus County, located in the heart of California’s fertile Central Valley, is seeking an experienced, energetic, collaborative, results oriented leader to serve as the County Chief Executive Officer.  The County with a population of just over 524,000 offers a mixture of urban, suburban, and rural environments.  With a  Recommended Adopted Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 of  just over $1 billion, Stanislaus County is cautiously starting to rebuild after strategically navigating the downturn in the economy through careful restructuring, fiscal caution, and strong local leadership.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public/business administration or a related field.  Candidates should have experience in budgeting, finance and business analysis, economic development, agri-business, health operations, strategic planning, short and long-range planning, intergovernmental relations, and negotiations with employee organizations. 

Experience with a comparable or larger county is preferred.  Community involvement is important and relocation to Stanislaus County is anticipated.
