Description:

The Assessor is seeking an experienced office professional who understands and enjoys direct contact with a wide variety of people including public service employees, business, political and community leaders. The individual selected will be expected to have frequent contact with high level government, community, media, and private sector officials.

This position requires a motivated, energetic and task-oriented individual who has a passion for public service; welcomes challenges; thrives in an intense and fast-paced environment; has good judgment and excellent communication skills; strong writing and copy editing skills; learns and leverages technological resources; is detail-oriented and has a high-level of organizational skill; interacts well with people; and is comfortable dealing with senior executives.

Under general direction, this position serve as the confidential secretary to an elected county official or other county officers and is designated “at-will” as provided by the County Charter.

Qualifications:

Sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the above typical tasks and the attainment of the knowledge and abilities listed below:

Experience Note: The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position are normally acquired through five (5) years of professional office administrative and/or secretarial experience. College or business school training in a field related to the work may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years. Experience in dealing with governmental and/or a community contact is highly desirable.
