$142,400 yr (a salary increase is anticipated January 1, 2017)

Description:

Located on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and with Yosemite National Park as its crown jewel, Mariposa County offers specular landscapes, extraordinary year round activities as well as an executive professional level opportunity in a close-knit community. Governed by a five member Board of Supervisors, the County has a total budget of $123 million budget with a General Fund budget of $55 million and 400 authorized positions. The ideal candidate will want to live, work and recreate in Mariposa County making this community their home not only because of professional opportunities and challenges but also since they are seeking a thoroughly remote, picturesque mountain environment.

The top candidate will be hands on; provide highly collaborative and progressive leadership to the Board, be an adaptable, creative and energetic problem solver and be recognized by the community as being strategic, passionate and committed to the County. Experience dealing with economic development, regional issues and General Plan update issues are a plus.

Qualifications:

Requires seven years of increasingly responsible public administration experience, including at least three years in a supervisory, management or administrative capacity. A Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, political science, social science or closely related field is required with a Master’s degree desirable. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the college education on a year-for-year basis.
