Safety Professional Wanted!

The County of Sonoma is seeking a solution-oriented occupational health and safety professional to fill one full-time Department Safety Coordinator vacancy in the Human Service Department (HSD). Responsible for supporting the departments’ staff in maintaining county-wide safety initiatives and for developing department operation specific safety programs, the Department Safety Coordinator provides technical support, consultation, investigative services and training on programs such as:

Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Occupational Injury/Illness/Exposure, First Aid, Emergency Action Plans, Injury and Illness Planning and Prevention, Medical Emergencies and Accident procedures, Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control, Emergency Evacuation, Violence in the Workplace, Domestic Violence in the Workplace, Bomb Threat, Earthquake and Fire Safety, Aerosol Transmissible Disease, and provides expertise and recommendations for Safety and Security.

Qualifications:

Qualifications for this position normally include academic coursework in public administration, business administration, management, accounting, political science, economics, statistics, English composition, and psychology AND one year of full-time professional level staff experience related to general administration, accounting, budgetary analysis, or human resources work including research, analysis, and preparation of written reports.
