Deputy City Manager/Administrative Services – City of Hemet, CA. $165,000/annually, DOQ. An at-will position appointed by, and reporting to, the City Manager, distinguishable from other director level positions in that it is considered the number two managerial position within the organization and may serve as Acting City Manager. 

The DCM/AS will oversee the Administrative Services Department, including, but not limited to: finance, budgeting, revenue management, purchasing, payroll, business license, utility billing, and risk management; human resources, labor relations, and workers compensation; and IT.  Finance is a key component of this position. The incumbent will organize, prepare, and oversee the annual budget and CAFR, and direct the preparation of the full range of financial reporting documents. The DCM/AS may also serve as the City’s chief labor negotiator.


BA in administration, finance,  or related field; 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, coordination and direction of municipal activities, involving municipal finance, budgeting, employee/labor relations, human resources, and risk management.  MA is highly desirable.
