Description:

The Deputy Director for the Building and Maintenance Department (BMD) of the Alameda County General Services Agency (GSA) will have the opportunity to oversee an impressive portfolio of facilities in one of the most desirable locations in the United States. BMD has a budget of $75 million and consists of 250 employees. Under administrative direction of the Chief Deputy of Operations, the Deputy Director plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the services and operations of the BMD of the General Services Agency. The Deputy Director, BMD is responsible for maintaining all County buildings, real property management, real estate services, and electronic security and audio visual systems.
Alameda County GSA is seeking a strong, innovative, and strategic leader to provide cost-effective and timely management of maintenance and janitorial services. The incumbent must be comfortable working in a highly political environment and is expected to have strong political acumen and sensitivity.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and eight years of professional-level supervisory and administrative experience including experience directing building management operations or real estate functions, budget preparation, and program management.
