Description:

Monterey County Resource Management Agency (RMA) is looking for a knowledgeable, broadminded and innovative public works administrator to be Deputy Director of Public Works and Facilities. Monterey County enjoys a wide range of natural environments, rich agricultural lands, gentle Mediterranean climate, and a high quality of life.

The Deputy Director reports to the RMA Director and oversees all Public Works and Facilities Division functions including Engineering, Architectural Services, Construction, Roads and Bridges Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, and Parks Operations. The Public Works and Facilities Division is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the County’s infrastructure, transportation system and County owned facilities.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have BS or Engineering degree with major work in civil engineering, and seven years of managerial and administrative experience that includes a variety of professional engineering activities, and three years public sector management experience. Valid certificate of registration as a PE and Land Surveyor highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have current technical/professional knowledge of complex engineering principles, methods, standards, and techniques.
