Description:

The City of Chula Vista is seeking a highly motivated Director of Parks and Recreation to plan, organize, direct and review the activities and operations of the Parks and Recreation Department, including recreation, community centers, sports fields and courts, recreational trails, aquatics, gazebos and picnic areas, and senior services; coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates, at minimum, will have the equivalent of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in recreation, parks programming, community services, or other related field, including four years of administrative and management responsibility, and training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field.
