A background of leadership in a large, public sector organization is ideal. Strong technical knowledge (CEQA, Subdivision Map Act, etc.) and regulatory planning skills combined with a willingness to invest in staff development and community relationships, and a commitment to the organizational vision and mission are a must – a passion for the work and a sense of humor are helpful.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration or a related field AND eight (8) years of administrative and/or management experience in a complex organization with responsibility for budget development and management, financial analysis, capital improvement projects, and intergovernmental liaison is required. Experience working for a city, county, or public sector special district including in-depth knowledge of service programs, and oversight and responsibility for budget and fiscal administration is expected. Experience in California is highly desired but not required. A Master’s degree is desirable.
