Description:

Fresno County’s Department of Public Works and Planning has an exciting career opportunity for a civil engineering professional who is experienced in project management designing and maintaining roads, bridges and traffic signalization for the position of Engineer III. Responsibilities include design and oversight of federally funded projects involving roads, bridges, traffic signals and ADA Compliant pedestrian facilities and other public works projects. The successful candidate will act in a lead capacity over lower level Engineers and staff to ensure the timely completion of these critical projects within the established deadlines.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, paid civil engineering experience equivalent to that gained as an Engineer with Fresno County designing and managing roads, bridges, traffic signalization and ADA Compliant pedestrian facility projects.

Experience in Project Management in a lead capacity, road and bridge design, environmental regulation compliance, public right of way acquisition process, Computer Aided Drafting, and contract administration is highly desirable.
