Description:

The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) seeks well-qualified candidates with association management or other relevant experience for its Executive Director position.

CSAC is the statewide, nonpartisan membership association of California counties, founded in 1894, with our headquarters in Sacramento. The primary purpose of CSAC is to represent its 58 member counties before the California Legislature, administrative agencies, the courts and the federal government. CSAC places a strong emphasis on educating the public about the value and need for county programs and services.

The Executive Director is appointed by the Association’s 15-member Executive Committee on behalf of the full Board and membership, supervises the 37-member staff and administers an annual budget of almost $9 million. County officials oversee and participate actively in CSAC policy development and services.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (advanced degree preferred), with a minimum 10 years of progressively higher levels of responsibility in administration of governmental or association programs and services, demonstrated supervisory and organizational development ability, and relevant experience with intergovernmental issues and processes, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.
