Description:

This Family Court Services Manager is a member of the Monterey County Superior Court’s leadership team and oversees the functions, staff and contractors of the Family Court Services program while also mediating a variety of child custody and visitation disputes as adjunct to judicial action, conducting domestic violence assessments, and evaluating social, family dynamics, and environmental and other aspects of parental responsibilities which directly relate to formulating parenting agreements and/or child custody recommendations; perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required education and experience is defined in California Family Code Section 1815. Continuing education requirements are defined in California Rule of Court 5.210(f) and Family Code Section 1816.

• Possession of a Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, marriage, family and child counseling, or other behavioral science substantially related to family and interpersonal relationships.
• Three years of experience in counseling or psychotherapy related to family conciliation for the courts and with a population similar to that served by the County.
• Possession of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LFMT) or Clinical Psychology license issued by the State of California is highly desirable.
• Completion of Domestic Violence training in accordance with Section 1816(a) of the Family Code.
• Some supervisory experience is desirable.
• Spanish bilingual is highly desirable.
