Description:

The County of Sonoma Human Resources Department seeks a detail-oriented, talented, and team player willing to learn and gain experience in the areas of Occupational Safety, Health, and Wellness. This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position in the Occupational Safety and Health Unit. The work schedule is flexible, with additional hours available on a periodic basis in response to operational needs.

This position will perform a variety of duties in support of the safety, health, and wellness programs, as well as program staff. Typical duties for this position include:
• Performing a wide range of administrative support activities
• Evaluating and documenting systems and processes
• Scheduling, preparing for, and facilitating meetings and trainings
• Gathering information, conducting research, and presenting findings
• Communicating information and providing guidance to County employees, departments, vendors, and the public regarding health and safety initiatives, as well as applicable rules and practices

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate technical information effectively
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Possess organizational and planning skills to include attention to detail, follow-through, and flexibility
• Strong computer skills, including experience working with Excel, Word, databases, and other reporting tools
