Description:

Hennepin County’s Human Services and Public Health Department (HSPHD) is seeking a highly accomplished leader to join the Deputy County Administrator and executive staff to provide leadership and strategic direction as the department champions high level initiatives aimed at changing the delivery of human services with the goal of better client outcomes and stronger communities.

The mission of HSPHD is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities by increasing safety and stability, promoting self-reliance and a livable income, and improving the health of our communities.

This position is unclassified, full-time, and benefit-earning. Unclassified positions are non-permanent (at will) and are not subject to HR law/rules. The salary for this position is $128,858 – $165,333 annually pending County Board approval.

Qualifications:

Best Qualified Candidates will have:

• One of the following:
  • Master’s degree in behavioral or social science, business administration, nursing, public administration, public health, or related field and five or more years of management or administrative experience in a large organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields and seven or more years of management or administrative experience in a large organization.
  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Management experience with proven success as a senior manager or executive in a sizeable, complex organization.
• Experience managing an operating budget over $1 million.
