Annual Base Salary: $115,211 – $140,026

Description:

San Joaquin County is seeking a proven leader to lead and manager to act as the Chief Information Officer for San Joaquin General Hospital.  This is a critical leadership position responsible for the Information Technology needs of the hospital.  Specific responsibilities are to develop and implement a strategic Information Technology plan, manage the implementation of new information systems and software acquisition, manage system administration including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), manage the IT department, maintain the privacy and security of all IT information, and ensure the cost effective expenditure of resources.  In addition, this position will have overall management responsibility for the implementation of a new Hospital Information System that will be purchase in early 2015.

Desirable qualifications include graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and four years of experience in a management capacity which included managing large-scale, complex information systems and implementing complex, advanced information technology projects. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.  A graduate degree in Public or Business Administration may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

Final candidates will be interviewed by the Information Systems Director.  This position is exempt from the San Joaquin County Civil Service system.  Appointments to exempt positions are at-will and re not governed by the Civil Service Rules.

A background investigation will be required for all final candidates.  Final appointment will be conditional upon passing a drug screening test as well as DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting.
