Description:

The BP&P Unit develops/oversees the County’s $3 billion budget, tracks the performance of County departments and participates in setting County policy. Management Analysts conduct research, provide complex analysis on critical issues and evaluate program effectiveness within all the County departments. Management Analysts play a key role in bridging the County’s vision for the community and the day-to-day management and operations of County programs and services.

Management Analysts have high exposure to the County executive team as they work with executives and Department staff on solving budget and performance issues, and on special projects.

Qualifications:

A typical way to qualify is a Bachelor’s from an accredited college or university in political science, business or public administration or a related field plus two years of journey-level analyst experience or a Master’s from an accredited college or university in political science, business or public administration or a related field plus one year of journey-level analyst experience. Must have knowledge of local government administration and organization; sources and availability of information; methods of report presentation; principles of financial administration, including public budgeting and reporting; and organizational analysis, performance reviews and human resource planning.
