Located in the center of the world famous Silicon Valley, Santa Clara (pop. 121,229) is a vibrant 19.3 square-mile city that is rich in history, education, culture, and opportunity. The Planning Division administers land use regulations and processes development proposals as well as shapes public policies related to growth and land use in the City.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will be experienced, innovative, and well versed in contemporary urban planning with excellent interpersonal skills who derives satisfaction from mentoring and developing their staff.  The annual salary for this opportunity is expected to be set at 85% of the Control Point, which is approximately $139,128, upon appointment.  Hiring above 85% of the Control Point of $163,680 may be considered based on qualifications and years of experience.  Through time the incumbent of an unclassified position has the opportunity to reach 110%, or $180,048 of the Control Point.  Appointment above the Control Point is subject to approval by the City Council.
