Description:

The Building and Safety Department has an opportunity for a Plans Examiner II/III in Riverside. The incumbent will review residential, commercial, and industrial building and grading plans to ensure compliance with California Building Codes and regulations, Riverside County Ordinances, and water quality standards. In evaluating building and grading plans, the Plans Examiner II/III will be tasked to accurately determine occupancy groups, area and height allowances, and will evaluate plumbing, mechanical, and electrical code compliance.

Qualifications:

The most competitive candidates will be seasoned engineers with broad structural engineering experience and exposure providing corrections and recommendations to the public, developers, and contractors. Candidates in possession of an International Code Council (ICC) Plans Examiner Certification are highly desired.
